SALFORD Red Devils will be without playmaker Rangi Chase when they take on Leigh Centurions in the Ladrbrokes Challenge Cup.

The half-back has been banned for seven games while his team-mate, forward Weller Hauraki, will also miss the match on April 18.

Chase was found guilty of making a Grade E dangerous throw on Huddersfield’s Brett Ferres in the 15th minute of the fixture played on Good Friday. Chase, who pleaded not guilty, was also fined £300.

Hauraki has been suspended for four games after being found guilty of two offences.

He was found guilty of Grade B reckless striking with the shoulder on former Leigh player Scott Grix in the 61st minute during the game against Huddersfield. Hauraki had originally been charged with Grade C reckless striking but the offence was downgraded by the tribunal. He was also found guilty of Grade B striking in the 79th minute of Salford’s fixture against Wigan Warriors on Monday April 6.

The tribunal imposed a two-match ban and £300 fine for each offence.
