Solid performance

Astley & Tyldesley took on Stockport in a Northern Combination League match at Gin Pit on Sunday.

A good solid team performance saw A & T take the win, 89-80, despite the visitors providing the majority of race winners. All six A & T riders in the main body of the team scored well, as the team recorded their fourth win this season in this league. Captain Reece Pollitt top scored for A & T with solid scores from Ron Makin, Max Evans, Roy Heslop, Beccy Heslop and Stefan Whitelegg.

Following the Stockport match, A & T staged Round 3 of the Astley & Tyldesley Go-Ride Grand Prix series. In the Girls event, Jasmin Waterworth won all her four races to win the event, finishing ahead of younger sister Manisha Waterworth, with Mia Wibberley third. Max Evans won all his four races to win the Boys event, finishing ahead of Reece Pollitt, with Daniel Burns third.

The next match at Gin Pit is this forthcoming Sunday (June 24) when A & T host a round of the Northern Fours and Junior League series. First race is at 12.30 pm.
