Eighteen year old Laura Riches won her second England vest in as many weeks having represented England in the 3000mts steeple chase at the Loughborough home international recording a time of 10:51,and then on Saturday Laura ran in the European Fell Trials at Keswick, and once again presenting England. The tough race started with a run up Latrig followed by Skiddaw, a climb of 990 mts and a steep decent of 1400 mts. Laura ran one of her best fell races of the year finishing 7th overall and first under 23 year old with the England team taking the team prize. The following day Laura ran in the Bupa 10 km race at Manchester finishing third lady in the race recording a time of 37:57.

In the inter –counties fell running championships at Settle Dionne Allen, representing Greater Manchester, finished in 11th place second Greater Manchester counter in a time of 1hour 1 min 43sec the team winning 3rd place.

David Smith running in the Bupa Manchester 10k race recorded a personal best time of 36:26.

Ten year old Kyle Jones had a very successful weekend of running; competing on Saturday in the Park run at Leigh he recorded an amazing time of 19:36 for the 5k course, then on Monday he competed in the Junior Bupa Manchester 2K race; 10 year old Kyle had an outstanding run winning the under 11 boys 2k in a time of 8:47.

Eleanor Bond ran an excellent race in the Bupa under 15 race finishing in 12th place in a time of 9:54 ahead of over 200 runners.

Eleven year old Keely Hodgkinson closes in on the under 13 girls’ club record for the 1200 mts which has stood since 2005. Winning the under 13 girls 1200 mts at the Trafford medal meeting on Sunday, in a time of 3:58, Keely remains just one second off the club record; this run ranks her 7th in the country.

Ben McLaughlin also running in the under 13 boys 800mts 2:30.5, a new pb, and then he clocked another personal best time in the 200 mts- he ran 31.00sec.

Kristian Wade made his 800m debut clocking 2:40.00, whilst Jacob Briscoe was just off his best in the under 15 boys 800mts recording a time of 2:32.4. Running in the girls U13 800m race, Joanna Smith clocked 2:58.00 and 23.20sec for the 150m.
