RYAN Brierley is weeks ahead of schedule in his recovery from injury – and could even play in Sunday’s friendly at Warrington.
When the Leigh scrum half suffered a knock during training in December, it looked like he would be lucky to be back for the Kingstone Press Championship opener at Batley on February 7.
But his impressive powers of recovery and willingness to work hard in rehab mean he is pencilled in to play some part at the Halliwell Jones Stadium this weekend.
“Hopefully Ryan will get some gametime,” said Leigh coach Paul Rowley.
“He is probably two to three weeks ahead of schedule. He has worked hard and reacted well to treatment.
“I take the lead from the physios who have been brilliant and when they say he’s fit, he’s fit. We won’t rush him back but if he’s given the all clear he’ll play at Warrington.”
