ATHERTON singer Laura White will provide the matchday entertainment when Leigh Centurions take on Bradford Bulls on February 15.

White will perform two songs during the half-time interval of the Kingstone Press Championship opener.

White who will also be a guest of the club for the day, rose to fame by reaching eighth place on The X Factor in 2008 and has since pursued a successful career in her dual role.

Her single You Should Have Known peaked at No2 in the UK Indie Singles Chart in 2009 and last November her debut EP What My Mother Taught Me won critical acclaim and reached no1 in the singer/songwriter charts.

She has also written songs for other artists including Rihanna, Eliza Doolittle, Cher Lloyd and Leona Lewis and has toured with Peter Andre with his Revelation Tour.

White’s partner is the Leigh Centurions forward Matthew Sarsfield who will miss out on the season opener through injury.
