Astley & Tyldesley’s junior squad were in action at Stockport on Saturday for the fourth and final North Regional Round of the British Youth & Junior League series. Astley & Tyldesley started the day second in the league table and needed to maintain that position, with the top two teams qualifying for the National series later this summer, to meet six teams from the other three regions.
A strong performance throughout by Astley & Tyldesley riders saw the team take second place on the day, to finish in second place in the league table and secure a place in the national series, for the second year running.
John White set the ball rolling in the U8 category, finishing third in the Grand Prix ‘A’ Final. Next up were the U10s, with Matthew Snell taking second place in the ‘A’ Final, Ben Dickinson fourth in the ‘B’ Final and Ashton Semtyshin first in the ‘C’ Final.
In the U12 category, Max Evans took third place in the ‘A’ Final, with Alex Semtyshin finishing second in the ‘C’ Final. Ciaran Collins took second place in the U14s ‘B’ Final, with Liam Briggs fourth in the ‘B’ Final.
Last up were the u-16s and Reece Pollitt rounded off a great day for Astley & Tyldesley by winning the Grand Prix ‘A’ Final.
It was another great performance by a set of local riders, all proudly representing their local club, Astley & Tyldesley.
