Leigh Centurions have signed a 20-year-old London born forward.
Jamie Acton started his rugby career with Hemel Stags, before joining Wigan Warriors in 2010. He has since plied his trade with Oldham Roughyeds and most recently Workington Town in the 2013 season.
Centurions Head Coach Paul Rowley said; “We are starting to build a very formidable pack for next season, and Jamie definitely fits that mould. He is locally based and was particularly outstanding against us when we faced Workington at LSV this season.
“Jamie is a very powerful front row forward, but he is also very mobile, having started out in the centres. He will be a great asset to Leigh Centurions in 2014 and I look forward to having him on board.
“It’s plain to see that there’ll be strong competition for places in our pack of forwards next year and over the coming weeks we’ll be announcing further signings that will complement our line of backs.”
