Fuifui Moimoi has an outside chance of making Leigh’s fifth round Challenge Cup tie against Salford later this month.
The Tongan forward suffered a knee injury in the early stages of Leigh’s Easter Monday win over Workington Town.
He had a scan today (Tuesday) which has revealed a medial ligament strain.
Centurions boss Paul Rowley said he was hopeful of having the former Parramatta prop in contention for the Cup clash with Salford on April 18.
“Fui has an outside chance of playing against Salford,” said Rowley. “But he will be missing on Sunday for the game against Sheffield. It’s just a case of him resting up and seeing how he responds.”
