LEIGH’S new Australian signing, former Melbourne Storm forward Dayne Weston, has arrived in the town.
The 28-year-old and his young family are making themselves at home in Leigh and Weston is looking forward to the start of preseason training.
Weston said: “We are so happy to be in our new home. Can’t explain this feeling – the welcome has been unbelievable”.
Weston was enthusiastically greeted by fans as he visited the town centre for the first time on Saturday and even popped down to the Centurions outlet in Leigh Market. Second rower Weston has signed a two year deal with the Super League hopefuls.
Coach Paul Rowley said: “I am looking forward to working with Dayne and welcoming him to our family here at the Centurions.”
Meanwhile, Leigh have allowed Frankie Halton to join North Wales Crusaders on loan for the 2016 season.
The forward finds himself down the pecking order at Leigh after the club shelved their reserve grade side for next year.
