Leigh Centurions are back in training for their 2014 campaign in the Kingstone Press Championship.

Coach Paul Rowley has had the players back into the LSV this week and is delighted with the way they are looking.

“With the exception of our five World Cup players, everyone has been at training, and looking like they have really looked after themselves during the short off season,” said Paul. “The new signings, Jimmy Acton, Matt Sarsfield, Tom Armstrong and Alex Brown have been joined by Tom Spencer who has signed on a permanent contract along with the rest of the squad.

“Stuart Littler, Simon Finnigan and Bob Beswick will join us after the Irish games are completed and Sam Barlow and Oliver Wilkes have been playing with Scotland and Wales respectively. They will join us after a couple of weeks off to recover.

“Basically we will be on weights programmes for the next few weeks and then we will start to gear up for at least three friendlies in the New Year.

“We are finalising details but should be able to announce those dates and opposition very shortly.”
