HISTORY favours Wakefield ahead of Sunday’s sixth round Ladbrokes Challenge Cup tie against Leigh.

The Super League side have won all nine Challenge Cup ties between the sides, the most recent being in 2009 when Leigh were thrashed 54-0.

But the Wildcats will be wary of a team that provided the giant-killing of the last round, when a superb display helped them knock out Salford Red Devils.

Wakefield’s league form this season has been poor, but they easily saw off Halifax 44-16 in the fifth round.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm and will be shown live on BBC2 and also broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra.

Leigh’s Kurt Haggerty is the only current player to have featured in the last meeting between the sides, when he was stand-off in the Centurions’ 54-0 round four defeat at Wakefield in 2009.
