Leigh winger Adam Higson has been awarded the Kingstone Press Championship Try of the Week award.

There are also two Centurions in the Championship Team of the Week - centre Tom Armstrong and half-back Martyn Ridyard.

Higson’s spectacular finish helped Leigh to a 50-20 win over Doncaster at the Sports Village on Sunday.

Centurions coach Paul Rowley said: “If it had have been in the NRL or Super League, it would have been trending on YouTube by now. It was a world-class try.

“He had to check his run, so he didn’t catch it in full flight, and that gave the covering defenders an opportunity. He looked certain to be bundled into touch, but came up with perfect diving finish.

“Adam’s been absolutely outstanding all season and this was just the latest example. He’s a big fella and a quality winger in all aspects.”

The win kept Leigh seven points clear at the top of the Championship. The Centurions have won their last 14 games and on Sunday go to Sheffield.
