PAUL Rowley is aiming to bring in a new forward ahead of the new Kingstone Press Championship campaign.
Centurions learned last week that Matt Sarsfield would be out for around six weeks with a pectoral injury.
And close season signing Richard Beaumont has apparently gone AWOL – he’s not been seen at the club since mid December.
It is believed Leigh have targeted a forward but don’t expect a deal to be concluded in time for Sunday’s friendly against North Wales Crusaders at the Sports Village.
Beaumont spent much of last season on dual reg at Rochdale from parent club St Helens. He has also played for Hull KR. Leigh’s forward options have been further limited by injuries to Kurt Haggerty, Tom Spencer and Martin Aspinwall – all of whom missed Sunday’s win over Wigan.
+ Half-back Josh Ward earned rave reports for his performance at Barrow last Sunday as they defeated their Cumbrian rivals Whitehaven. Ward is on season-long loan from Leigh.
