Leigh Centurions prop forward Elliot Liku has joined Kingstone Press Championship One club Oldham on a loan arrangement until the end of the season.
Liku, 19, is captain of the Leigh Centurions Reserves and has played a big role in the success of Paul Anderson’s side over the past two years.
Leigh Centurions Head Coach Paul Rowley said: “As I said when we allowed Jamie Tracey to join Barrow on loan recently, sadly the Reserves competition has been a non-event this year.
“This loan will allow Elliot the opportunity to play at a higher level in a good competitive environment. It helps Oldham out and it will be a valuable learning curve for Elliot at a crucial stage of his development as a player.
“We will be monitoring Elliot’s performances at Oldham, as we do with all our players who are at other clubs and hopefully he will get his opportunity to play at first-team level for the first time and come back to us a more experienced player.”
