Leigh’s head of rugby Derek Beaumont has been fined £2,000 by the RFL after he was found guilty of posting “inappropriate” comments on Twitter.

An independent Operational Rules tribunal found him to be in breach of RFL Operational Rule D1.1(b) improper conduct, breaching the RFL Respect Policy and breaching the RFL Social Media Code of Conduct.

The fine relates to tweets posted on Twitter on May 10, 2015.

The tribunal also invoked the £1,000 suspended element of a £2,000 fine imposed on Mr Beaumont in April for prejudicial conduct at a Championship Round 1 fixture against Bradford Bulls.
