Travellers lose PR war

I AM not as naturally antagonistic towards the cause of travellers.

My mantra was and is, within reason, live and let others live how they wish to.

But even I was left irritated and fuming at the latest halt by a flotilla of caravans, slap bang in the middle of the pitches at Leigh Rugby Union.

This has left the club, never the strongest of outfits as you can imagine in the back yard of rugby league, facing a huge bill if they are to ever manage to re-instate their pitches.

Actions like this – they could have used the car park or parked around the edge of the sports pitches – hardly does the travellers’ cause any good.
