IT’S marvellous how one little incident can make your day.
As a father of five daughters, I’ve always been a soft touch for little girls, so I had a smile on my face when walking in the gardening section at B&Q, and seeing a lovely little girl, aged around six or seven, skipping happily towards me, maybe having escaped from her parents for a few seconds, singing to herself.
As she approached, I raised my left hand to hip level to avoid catching her, but without breaking her step, and continuing to sing, she raised her own little hand, slapped in into my palm in a “high five” gesture, and skipped happily on her way.
Wonderful. I couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of the day.
