AS our local sanctuaries burst at the seams with older cats in need of a loving new home, through no fault of their own, may I please be allowed to sing their praises?
Older cats soon settle into a new home and make wonderful companions.
They are quicker and more sensible than kittens, and are usually used to household life.
They are content to spend much of their time just watching the world go by.
Nowadays, with improved nutrition and veterinary care, cats are living well into their teens and 20s, so adopting an older cat doesn’t mean you won’t share many happy years together.
So go on give an older cat the second chance in life it deserves.
