Witness appeal as man dies after crash

Police are appealing for witnesses as a man died shortly after a collision.

At around 8.55am on Wednesday 21, a 57-year-old man was driving a Renault Master along Wigan Road, Westhoughton, near to the junction of Quakerfields when there was a collision with a Ford Transit van, Peugeot 307 and Honda Jazz.

The driver of the Renault was taken to hospital but sadly died later.

It is believed he may have suffered a medical episode at the wheel. No one else was injured.
