A WIGAN student is the new recipient of a Wigan and Leigh Magistrates bursary.
Former Ashton St Edmund Arrowsmith High School pupil Steven McFadian has been awarded the Bench’s Golden Jubilee Award.
The 23 year old, from Hindley, is a former Wigan and Leigh Magistrates student and is currently studying law at Cambridge University.
Eventually he hopes to hopes to practice in Contract Law in the future.
Each year the Chairman of the Wigan and Leigh Bench presents a prize, a cheque in the sum of £100, to a student in the borough who has attained the highest pass grades at ‘A’ level and then goes on to read law at University.
This prize has been awarded since 2002.
