POLICE are hunting four masked men armed with a screwdriver who raided a house.

At around 2.40pm yesterday (Tuesday) four men, one carrying a screwdriver, burst into a house on Platt Fold Road in Leigh.

They threatened the two women who lived there before stealing jewellery and cash then fled onto Holden road where they got into a waiting white car.

The first man is described as white, of slim build, and was wearing a face covering, a black jacket with a grey pattern on the front, and gloves.

The second man is described as white, shorter than the first man, of medium build and was wearing a blue top, grey tracksuit bottoms, gloves and a face covering.

The third man is described as white, and was wearing a jacket with bright blue sleeves.

Police do not have a description of the fourth man.

Detective Constable Andrew Partington of Wigan division said: “Fortunately, no-one was seriously hurt, but the women are very shook up and were very scared of what may have happened when they were being threatened by four men.

“I would urge anyone with any information or who witnessed the incident to contact police.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 7225 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
