DRUGS, guns and cash have been seized in a raid at a farm.

On Thursday, January 29, officers from Wigan division executed a warrant at Walmesley Farm off Green Lane, in Higher Fold.

Police discovered 12kg of uncut amphetamine paste with an approximate street value of £120,000, about £7000 cash and some firearms. Property, believed to have been stolen in recent burglaries in Leigh and Atherton which included laptops and satnavs, was also recovered.

Three men aged, 35, 36 and 38 were arrested on suspicion of supplying amphetamine and remain in police custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant John Davies of Wigan division said: “I would like to commend the officers for the excellent team-work that led to this result and this seizure shows our determination to clampdown on the drugs and firearms that harm our communities.

“We are committed to tackling organised crime and are dedicated to making our streets safer for those who live and work in the community. I would ask anyone who may know where drugs or guns are being dealt or produced to contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
