A LOCAL man is one of five people to go on trial next week for murder.
Troy Beckford, 23, of Lowerfields Gardens, Golborne, was arrested as part of an investigation into the fatal shooting of Kieran McGrath in Manchester two years ago.
At around 10.25pm on Saturday October 4, 2014, 26-year-old Mr McGrath was found collapsed outside Ashton police station on Manchester Road having suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
He had made his way to the station, where officers and paramedics tried to save him, after being shot outside the Sheldon Arms pub.
Anthony Henry, 31, of no fixed address; Scott Chapman, 27, of Leng Road, Newton Heath; Remi Adams, 33, of Dartmouth Road, Whitefield; and Jace Ryan Smit, 31 of Charlestown Road, Blackley, are all charged with murder.
The trial, due to start at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, is set to last 10 weeks.
