Ice cream van driver arrested after attacking rival seller

TWO ice cream van drivers lost their cool during a heated clash in Leigh.

Police are appealing for information about the altercation which took place at around 6pm on Saturday, February 21.

There was a dispute between two men who were driving ice cream vans on Severn Street near to the junction of Rothay Street.

Both men received minor injuries but police are asking those who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until 8 April 2015.

Police Constable Kat Tydesley said: “Although an arrest has been made, we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened to call us.

From what we understand, there was a dispute which has led to the incident.
