A man and his young daughter were threatened with a hammer by two men who then stole their car.
The 30-year-old dad had pulled up onto his drive on Atherton Road, Hindley Green, with his daughter, eight, when they were approached by two men.
One of the men threatened the victims with a hammer and demanded the keys to the car at around 7.40pm on Wednesday.
Once they had taken the car keys, the two men drove off in the car along Atherton Road, heading in the general direction of Leigh.
The vehicle stolen is a silver Honda Civic and the registration number is – SC05 OYR.
Inscribed on the rear of the stolen vehicle are the words ‘DARCY LOUI’.
The two offenders are described as white men between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall and in their late 20s to early 30s. They were both wearing dark coloured clothing with their hoods pulled up.
Police Constable Kevin James from GMP’s Wigan division said: “This was a terrifying attack on a father and his child on the driveway of their family home and at this stage we believe it was an unprovoked and isolated incident.
“I would like to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to identify those responsible for committing this violent crime and bring them to justice.
“I would like to appeal for any witnesses to come forward who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the two men or the silver Honda Civic.
