A TEENAGER suffered facial injuries after a gang of yobs assaulted him at Leigh bus station.
Police today issued these stills from CCTV cameras taken near the scene and said that the attack was completely unprovoked as they appealed for information.
The 18-year-old was set upon by up to five other youths at 9.20pm on Wednesday, February 23.
The victim’s bike was also taken from him but was eventually left behind by the group.
The offenders are all described as being white and aged between 16 and 17 years old. One has short dark hair and a gaunt face.
Closed circuit television images of a number of youths police are keen to identify was today released by officers.
PC John Catterall, of the Wigan Police Volume Crime Team, said: “The victim was outnumbered and assaulted for absolutely no reason by a number of youths who took his bike only to discard it later on.
“We will not tolerate groups of youths loitering around the bus station making it an intimidating place for local residents and with the help of the local community I am confident we will identify those in the images.”
