Firefighters have blasted whoever was responsible for a grass fire in the middle of a field.
Crews were called to open land off Green Lane in Higher Folds shortly after 1pm on Tuesday afternoon.

They found a camp fire had been abandoned while still burning and the flames had spread to the surrounding grass.
The fire was heading towards some trees with a row of houses nearby but firefighters say there was never any danger of properties being harmed.
However, the incident has been blasted as a waste of emergency resources at a time when the region's fire service is hard pressed dealing with massive moorland incidents across Greater Manchester.
Crew manager Phil Dearden from Atherton station said: "We've got two major incidents going on at Saddleworth and Rivington so for people to be having camp fires and leaving them just ties up resources, especially when the ground is so dry.
"People shouldn't be having fires anyway in this hot weather."
The fire crew was tied up at the scene for around an hour.
