Free car parking is available for shoppers in Wigan and Leigh town centres this Easter Saturday.
The ‘cracking’ offer from Wigan Council means that all chargeable car parks in Wigan and Leigh are free all day on Easter Saturday.
Wigan and Leigh Markets are also hosting Easter family events on Saturday including an Easter egg hunt and face-painting.
Glen Furnival, who runs the Fish Man of Leigh stall and is chairman of Leigh Market Traders, said: “It promises to be a really fun Easter Saturday at Leigh Market with an Easter egg hunt and face-painting to entertain the children.
“I would urge people to get down to Leigh market and town centre this Easter for a fun family day and free parking.”
Councillor David Molyneux, Wigan Council’s cabinet member for regeneration, said: “We hope shoppers visit Wigan and Leigh this Easter Saturday to take advantage of the free parking offer.
“Wigan and Leigh both have a superb range of shops including high street favourites, unique independent shops as well as great markets.
“We are sure the free parking offer will attract more shoppers over the Easter weekend and will help support our town centre businesses.”
Parking will also be free for shoppers on the Bank Holidays of Good Friday and Easter Monday - excluding the multi-story car parks.
On Good Friday Tyldesley Market will be having a bouncy castle and face painting.
