Four charged after armed robbery in Astley

FOUR men have been charged after an armed robbery in Astley.

All four have been charged with robbery and are due to appear at Wigan Magistrates Court today, Friday 15 August 2014. Those charged are: Adam Eric Cantona Doyle (18) of Central Avenue, Worsley; Dean Anthony Mcdonough (24) of no fixed abode; Kade Stephen Cole (23) of Morland Drive, Little Hulton and Daniel Dickenson (27) of Duke Street, Radcliffe.

Just before 8pm on Wednesday, August 13 2014, a Vauxhall Vectra pulled up at the back of a Co-op store on Chelford Drive, Astley.

Three men got out of the car and went inside the shop, demanding money. One of the men was holding an axe.

A large quantity of money was given to them before they left and was later recovered.
