A LIGHTING firm in Atherton has gained the seal of approval, from the borough’s council leader, in its mission to quash hospital infections.
MHA Lighting, run by Tom Harrison, has seen huge success and growth in recent months because of its state-of-the-art technologies and energy and cost saving bulbs.
And it was visited by Lord Peter Smith who was keen to learn more about the work the company is doing in the fight to cut down the spread of bacteria and remove the risk of superbugs.
Lord Smith said: “I was bowled over by MHA lighting. It has really impressive technology.”
MHA’s hospital friendly lighting consists of completely patented LED technology, designed as a fully sealed unit to stop dust, bacteria and dead insects from gathering around warm light fittings and spreading superbugs.
Lord Smith was delighted to hear that the company has achieved a 500 per cent growth in 2011 and has recruited 42 employees and two apprentices from the local area in the last two years. MD Mr Harrison, said: “MHA Lighting is an incredible local success story and we are delighted to be able to showcase the work we are doing here in the borough to Lord Peter Smith.”
