THE family of a pensioner who died following a collision have paid tribute to a “loved” father and grandfather.
At around 10.45am on Thursday November 20, 72-year-old Gordon Saywell was crossing Gloucester Street near its junction with Bag Lane in Atherton on his mobility scooter.
As he was crossing the road, he was hit by a Blue Nissan Note that was turning right from Bag Lane into Gloucester Street.
Mr Saywell sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he sadly died a week later.
Gordon Saywell’s family, said: “Gordon was a lovely man who never went out without his flat cap. He was always a gentleman.
“He was very much loved father, granddad and a true friend to many.”
