BIRDS are particularly susceptible to diseases given the vast space they can cover and unfortunately a deadly virus has affected many species in the borough’s wetlands.

If you see any sick or dead birds when you are out and about inform the RSPCA immediately. It is vital that the public help identify areas where avian botulism has taken hold so that it can be isolated so that as many species as possible remain healthy and unaffected.

Dogs can also be at risk so it is important pet owners keep their dogs on a lead in the affected areas.
