TWO teenagers were threatened by a knife-wielding robber who made off with one the victim’s mobile phones.

The 19-year-old woman was walking with her boyfriend along a wooded path area just off Neverstitch Road in Skelmersdale at around 6.20pm last Thursday (August 21) when they were approached by a man.

The man is believed to have threatened the couple with a knife and demanded that they hand over their mobile phones and money.

He then tried to take the woman’s Apple iPhone 5 out of her hands and reportedly knocked her to the ground. He then ran away after being chased for a short distance by the woman’s boyfriend.

The woman suffered minor injuries of cuts and bruises to her face.

The man is described as a white male, 5ft 5in tall of a thin build and he spoke with a Liverpool accent.

Police are now investigating and say they are seeking any witnesses or anybody with any information to come forward.

DC Jo Collinson, of Skelmersdale CID, said: “This incident has left the young woman very shaken and I would urge anyone that might have seen something around the time of the robbery to get in touch as soon as they can.”
