THREE men who held up a sandwich shop are being hunted by police.
The raid happened just before 8.30pm on September 20, when two hooded men burst into Subway on on Mealhouse Lane, Atherton.
They ordered the three staff members to get on the floor and fled with a quantity of cash from the till, making their getaway in a silver estate car which was parked on the car park between Flapper Fold Lane and Alma Street with an accomplice at the wheel.
The trio drove down Mealhouse Lane towards Leigh. No-one was injured during the raid but staff members were left badly shaken.
The first two men were white and had Merseyside accents. They both wore dark blue hooded jackets with scarves to cover their faces and dark trousers. They also had socks on over their hands.
DC Kevin Telford from Wigan CID said: “If anyone was on or around the precinct near the time of this robbery and saw either the men that went into the shop or the car waiting nearby outside, please get in touch.
“These men have understandably caused considerable distress to the staff members working at this store and we are determined to identify those responsible and take them off our streets.
“We also believe that the getaway car went through a red traffic light at speed while driving from Flapper Fold Lane onto Mealhouse Lane. There was an unidentified car behind them at the time and we would like to speak to anyone that was in this car to see if they can provide any further details on the offenders.”
Anyone with details can call Wigan CID on 0161 856 7352 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
