Boy, 4, injured in collision

A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy was injured in a collision with a car in Leigh.

The youngster was taken to hospital and initially admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

But he has since been transferred to another ward at that hospital where he is being treated for a broken shoulder.

Police were called to Maple Crescent, around noon on Wednesday, April 25, following reports of a collision.

A Citroen vehicle which is believed to have been reversing out onto the road, had been in collision with the child who was riding his scooter.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to contact the serious collision investigation unit on 0161 856 4742.
