AN 11-year-old boy who went to the same school as a Wigan teenager mauled to death by a pack of dogs has been found hanged.

Brad Rothwell was discovered at his home in Peel Close, Atherton. Paramedics were called to the family’s semi-detached address at 9.40pm on Thursday but could not revive the youngster.

The tragedy comes just two months after Jade Anderson, 14, was mauled by a pack of dogs and killed at Chaucer Grove, also in Atherton. Both pupils attended Fred Longworth High School.

The school will hold a special assembly on Thursday to pay tribute to tragic youngster Brad. Since his death social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter have been inundated with messages to Brad.

One group, entitled, RIP Brad Rothwell, shared pictures and tributes.

One read: “love you brad. You were a great mate and will never be forgotten xx”

A friend wrote: “Sleep tight young man... We’ve had lots of tears today and you will be sadly missed! Such a lovely boy gone too soon sleep tight angel!”

And another put: “RIP brad thoughts go to you and the family rest in paradise and dance happily with the angels every one will miss you gone but never forgotten xxxx”

Tucker Lomas, Jade’s uncle, also shared his condolences.

He said: “So sad to hear this news. I don’t know you but I’m Jade’s uncle. Two young lives gone too soon. I know Jade will be looking out for you. Condolences to your family. Rest in peace.”

A neighbour of Brad’s said that he used to speak to him everyday and that he was often seen out playing with his brother.

Even people who did notknow Brad personally took to Facebook to offer their condolences. One message read: “RIP brad didn’t know you but my thoughts are with your family xxx.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said: “Emergency services attended and attempted to resuscitate the 11-year-old, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and it has been passed on to the coroner.”

Wigan’s coroner is expected to open an inquest into Brad’s death this week.
