THE amazing diversity of bird life in Equador is the subject of a talk at a meeting in Leigh next week.

Leigh Ornithological Society are holding an indoor meeting at the Derby Room, Leigh Library, Market Street on Friday, October 14 at 7.30pm and non-members are welcome.

Worldwide travellers, Janet and Les Evans, will talk about this small country in South America with a vast range of birdlife: humming birds, cock-of-rock and other spectacular species.

The couple will also take their audience to the forests and valleys of the High Andes to the West and East of Quito.
