A motorcyclist who was airlifted to hospital following a crash in Wigan has died in hospital.
The 47-year-old man was taken to Hope Hospital following the collision between his machine and a car in Hough Lane, Tyldesley at 4.20pm on Saturday (May 5).
The motorcyclist had been travelling along Hough Lane heading in the direction of Manchester Road.
His motorbike collided with a grey Ford Mondeo, which was travelling in front of the bike on the same road, as the car turned left into a private drive.
The motorcyclist, who was from the Astley area, suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted to the hospital for treatment, but sadly later died.
Specialist officers are supporting the man’s family and inquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.
The driver and the passenger in the car were not injured.
