Arsonist admission

A WIGAN man has admitted causing damage to a home in Leigh by starting a fire.

David Miller appeared before a judge at Liverpool Crown Court to plead guilty to arson at a flat in The Avenue, Leigh on Tuesday March 18 this year.

The charge added that he was reckless whether the lives of residents and neighbours were endangered.

The 36-year-old denied a more serious charge of committing arson with intent to endanger life, which is not to be pursued now by the prosecution.

Miller, of Woodcock Drive in Platt Bridge, was further remanded in custody to await his sentencing on Friday January 6.
