ONE OF clubland’s biggest names will bring his chart-topping tunes to a Leigh nightclub.
Ian Redman, best known as one-third of dance act Ultrabeat, who had three top 10 singles in the 1990s, will perform an exclusive 90-minute set at Pulp on August 31.
Liverpool-based DJ Ian, whose best-known tracks with Ultrabeat include hit songs Elysium (I Go Crazy) and Pretty Green Eyes, will take to the decks at the Railway Road venue for a rare UK outing in between his appearances as a resident DJ at a top nightclub in Majorca.
Ian, who will be supported on the night by Pulp resident DJs Murfe and Hynesy, is known for his live performances, and promoter Stu Connor is looking forward to the night.
Stu said: “It should be a big night for Pulp and Leigh. Ian’s one of the best DJs I’ve ever seen, he uses a lot of different equipment.
“It’s not just all done through the computer, he also plays live percussion over the tunes he spins using drum pads, which both looks and sounds brilliant.
“We’re in talks to bring some more top names to Pulp as well, so hopefully there will be more great gigs to come in Leigh.”
Ultrabeat were formed in 2002 and had three top 10 singles before their debut self-titled album reached number eight on the UK album chart when it was released in 2007.
Ian Redman plays Pulp nightclub on Railway Road on Friday, August 31. Tickets £5 on the door from 10pm. Over 18s only, dress: smart casual.
