A LEIGH hotel is putting on a spectacular festival of fun, music and food for the Diamond Jubilee this weekend.

G Fest 2012, a three day mini-fest of comedians, tribute acts, DJs and local bands, will be staged at the Greyhound Hotel, on Warrington Road, from Saturday to Monday.

Top billing will go to Leigh’s latest reality TV star, singer David Julien who reached the final stages of BBC1 show The Voice, and will make a guest appearance on Bank Holiday Monday.

There will also be rocking performances on Monday from Stolen Haven and Pacific, with comedians Adam Rowe and Luke Montague taking to the stage as well.

The festival kicks off on Saturday afternoon with Pete Phillipson and Dave Twentyman providing the comic turns along with musical tributes to Robbie Williams and Freddie Mercury.

Sunday’s line-up sees Russell Bland, Freddy Quinne and Ninah Gilligan tickling the festival-goers’ funny bones.

Musically, tribute acts will re-create the music of Pink Floyd and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The Greyhound will also be putting on a BBQ each night of the festival.

Tickets are £10 for Saturday and Monday and £12.50 for Sunday, and each day’s events run from 5pm until midnight, with DJs taking over after the live acts to keep the party dancing.
