A SINGER is returning to his Leigh roots to help raise funds for a children’s charity.

Eddie Robbins and the Sunbeams will perform at St Joseph’s Hall in Chapel Street on Saturday, September 22 at 8pm.

The evening is a fundraiser for the Street Children of Africa and one of the organisers Des Cooney said: “This is to raise money for orphaned children in Africa who live in holes in the ground.

“Eddie is a Leigh lad although he doesn’t live in the town now and it will be a tremendous evening.

“The band plays 50s and 60s music, 50s rock and roll and a Billy Fury tribute.”

There will be a bar and refreshments available and tickets at £8 each can be obtained by calling 01942 674868 or from Ratcliffe’s bike shop on Bradshawgate, Leigh.
