PUPILS in Leigh are planning for the future as they prepare for a new building.
Youngsters at Lowton St Luke’s CE Primary created a time capsule to be buried under the floorboards of new buildings soon to be erected at the school.
The capsule included photos and letters from each class, ties, planners, bags and the school prospectus.
Co-headteacher Christine Groves said: “As we are knocking down the old building, we decided we would like to put in a time capsule under the floor of its replacement.
“We have taught the children about how we find out about the past and they learnt about archaeological digs, so the pupils thought it would be good to leave something for the children of the future.”
Builders are currently working on three classrooms and an ICT suite, which will be officially opened in May.
