Leigh Sports Village has congratulated the Centurions following their incredible season which culminated in winning the Grand Final on Sunday.
“We’ve had a great year at Leigh Sports Village, and I have to say Leigh Centurions have been absolutely outstanding this season,” said Leigh Sports Village chief executive Simon Toon. “They’ve been great to watch, attendances have soared and we’re delighted with Centurions’ achievements, which have come through a lot of hard work on and off the pitch.
“Their success is also great for Leigh itself,” he continued. “LSV was built to be a state-of-the-art stadium that would put Leigh on the map and make people feel proud of the town. We’ve done that through events such as the Rugby League World Cup and Elton John, and now Leigh Centurions are making everyone sit up and take notice of Leigh.”
Centurions now have the chance to build on their success with next season introducing promotion to the Super League. “We’re really looking forward to this new league structure,” said Toon. “Through their incredible efforts this year, Centurions now have a platform at Leigh Sports Village to realise their long-held ambition of playing at the highest level.”
