LEIGH Centurions Challenge Cup quarter final clash will take place on Friday, May 11, at Leigh Sports Village Stadium ko 8pm.
The Board of Directors took the viewpoint that this was the most appropriate day and time to hold the game as we felt that the weekend would invariably clash with other sporting and stadium activities which in our opinion would have adversely affected the attendance.
Leeds are wholeheartedly supporting the game and will provide subsidised transport to Leigh for their fans.
Centurions Chairman Keith Freer, said: “This is a game we are all looking forward to and the Board would like to acknowledge the considerable efforts by Paul, his coaching staff and all the players to get this far in the competition, as without their effort we would not be in the quarter finals of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
“This is now a great opportunity for people in Leigh and all rugby league fans in the locality to get behind the Centurions in this momentous game against Leeds Rhinos - a replica of the 1971 Challenge Cup final and I sincerely hope that the same results can be achieved.”
