Tarleton 0 Leigh 101
In a completely one sided game Leigh ran in 15 tries, 13 of which were converted.
From the kick off, the home side defended well to keep their line intact, after 10 minutes of solid possession the 1st try was notched up by Alex Middleton Adams converted by Rob Drake.
From then on it was just a steady procession of tries, one by debutant Sean McDonald, a neat try by scrum half Dave Wood, following up on an old fashioned cross kick by Olly Shepherd. Jimmy Wilkinson then scored a brace on the 20th and 26th minute which was quickly followed by Rob Drake to score under the posts. The first half ended with Matt Newton forcing his way over to end the first half at 45 - 0.
Again, Tarleton started well in the second half helped by a string of penalties against Leigh which were rightly awarded by the referee. It took 15 minutes before good interplay between backs and forwards opened up the line to give Chris Morgan the opportunity to race over.
Two minutes later, Leigh’s full back Jimmy Wilkinson completed his hat trick.
Further tries followed from Adam Dyson, Dave Wood, Ross Shepherd, Elliot Ryan and finally Chris Morgan.
Leigh learned little from this run out and must gear themselves up for a much sterner task when they entertain Aldwinians next week who are currently holding third slot in the league.
