Action from the Leigh v Glossop game

Leigh Jnr Colts started their Raging Bull Jnr Colts League campaign with a hard fought win, away at Glossop.

The Leigh lads did very well to maintain their composure and stick to the game plan in the face of a series of penalties. Debutant scrum-half P Barry had a very impressive start to his union career, once he adjusted to the nuances of the games and tries from D Yarwood and E Liku helped Leigh to a half-time lead of 14-7.

The second half saw Glossop again retain a lot of possession but the resolute Leigh defence never wavered and as the referee’s whistle ran out of steam and Leigh began to wise up and have more of the ball, they began to cut the home team up. Tries from C Gater, G Grundy, M O’Dwyer and C Davies all improved by the boot of R Drake who had a 100% conversion rate, saw Leigh run out comfortable winners in the end and sets them up nicely in what will be a very competitive division.
