TYLDESLEY Netball Club are celebrating after they successfully applied for a grant to get more women playing the sport.
The aim is to offer a simple netball league as part of a wider participation plan called ‘the big summer of netball’.
The club wants is to offer accessible netball activity in local communities.
Tyldesley Netball Club has a successful track record with such schemes and this new league will run every Monday for seven weeks from July 14 at Leigh Sports Village between 7 and 10pm.
Games are an hour long to accommodate larger squads and more match play.
All teams are welcome to attend and receive a free match ball when registering.
There will be a mixture of abilities and ages playing from junior teams 14+ to back to netball teams just starting.
Emma Toone, head coach said: “We want to see more women and girls playing the sport we love and keep active over the summer months.
“We invite local teams or those wanting to get extra training in to come along and have a go at a fun, simple league.”
