Fly-half Barrow to lead Fylde

Scott Barrow will be stand-in skipper for Fylde away to second-bottom Tynedale in National League One on Saturday.

With Evan Stewart out and Chris Briers on England Counties’ duty in France, Barrow will lead the side from fly-half.

Coach Mark Nelson says Tynedale’s lowly league position is the furthest thing on his mind.

He said: “Going to play at Tynedale is as big a challenge as playing Doncaster at home.”

Jordan Dorrington plays at centre - Charles Hough is unavailable.

Nelson said: “Jordan has played in that position in the second team - we played him at outside-centre in training and he seemed comfortable.

“He can certainly tackle as he showed in the Loughborough match late on.”

Fylde: Viney; Rath, Dorrington, S Briers, Brennand; Barrow, De La Harpe; Birchall, Rylance, Griffiths, Arnold, Gore, Robinson, Vernon, Beaumont. Replacements: Lewis, Burtonwood, Wallwork, Spragg, Thompson.
