Tyldesley recorded their first win of 2012 at the third attempt against a side one place and one point above them in the league, with the visitors now obtaining 6th position after this very tough contest.

Tyldesley recorded their first points in the 10 minute, after some good defence and counter rucking from Morgan, Pollard and Mennell, allowing prop forward Ashmead to take possession and break, supplying the supporting Morley a great ball, who was tackled just short, but held the ball up well for Griffiths who touched down, conversion missed.
Nine minutes later Tyldesley crossed again, Griffiths regained possession in his own 22, then supplied Monks who went the length of the field for a great try under the posts, Wallbank converted. LSH crossed for a converted try in the 28th minute after some good rugby. Half time 7-12
Tyldesley dominated the majority of the second half but couldn’t turn pressure into points. Replacements Guest, Prendergast and Gillbanks worked hard throughout, constantly causing problems, but the hosts defended well.
With just three minutes remaining and the game still in the balance, Gaskell took a good line out ball from Norton.
